Our story began about 20 years ago, with a spark of passion, a hint of determination and a dream.
Our Floral Designer, Marzanna always had a passion for flowers; for the way they grow, how delicate and unique they are, the way they smell and lastly for the way they are perfectly suitable for any occasion. Ever since she could remember, her dream job was to work with flowers and be able to design beautiful creations that touched anyone who would receive them. Unfortunately, being that Marzanna came to Canada from Poland, it was not easy for her to find a career in her passion, as some time went by she found herself rearranging store bought bouquets and had her friends request that she made them arrangements.
Some years down the road Marzanna had come across a job posting for a position at Flower Shop as a designer, without thinking about taking on a part time job on top of her full time one, she applied. The owner was slightly hesitant to take her on, as she lacked the experience working in a Flower Shop, but Marzanna’s determination and passion took over. She walked over to the fridge filled with flowers, pulled out a handful of them and put together an arrangement for the owner.
The next day Marzanna began her first shift.
Some years went on and Marzanna had a chance to take over the Flower Shop, she jumped on the opportunity to finally have what she always dreamt of, sadly before her dream was fulfilled a loved one passed away. At this time, her dream had to be put on hold to deal with life but she continued on as she had for many years arranging flowers for her friends and family anytime she was able to.
Throughout the years she looked for other opportunities to work with flowers without success. Eventually, as time went by, the requests for arrangements became more frequent, gift baskets were added to the mix, the word had spread amongst friends of friends, the occasions kept on piling up and she was quickly having to make space in her home for flower and basket materials and accessories. Her children became involved, helping with arrangements, assembling gift baskets, spreading the word around the neighborhood and deliveries and soon enough it became a family business.
As space ran out in the family home, it was time to look for other alternatives, and just like that she found herself opening a store front. It was finally happening, her dream.
